Baby Loves Disco Launches ‘we
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) February 22, 2012
Once Again, H&M (http://www.hm.com/us/department/KIDS) Presents This Year?s Tour to more than 50 Cities;
Several Events Will Be Held at Loews Hotels
Baby Loves Disco (http://www.babylovesdisco.com), the internationally acclaimed family dance party phenomenon, will launch its 2012 We Are Family Tour, which will run from March through November, producing more than 100 events this year.
At Baby Loves Disco real DJs spin G-rated dance tunes, and hundreds of parents, grandparents and kids dance and party groove along and enjoy all kinds of creative fun. Games, dance contests, crafts, kid-friendly spa services and goody bags are all part of the admission fee. Giant video screens not only show music videos, they also allow dancers to check out their moves big time. And the whole family may remember the occasion with photos from the new Baby Loves Disco photo booth.
Baby Loves Disco gets families dancing at all kinds of venues, from the hippest nightclubs, Loews Hotels shopping malls, community centers, military installations and hospitals.
This year, in addition to ten events in the core cities of NYC and Philadelphia, Baby Loves Disco will travel all over the United States, including: San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Dallas, Baltimore, Denver, Salt Lake City, Portland, Seattle, Florida, Atlanta, Ohio, Chicago, Minneapolis and more. Baby Loves Disco’s YouTube channel will feature reality-show style videos from each city as the tour progresses.
Born in the City of Brotherly Love in 2007 and created by two parents, Heather Murphy Monteith and Andy Blackman Hurwitz, Baby Loves Disco is a true family affair, with Marketing Director Kelly Miller and her husband Gregory Miller managing events in NYC and many other towns on the tour. Now that Andy?s two eldest sons Samson and Charlie are old enough, they will join the tour occasionally this year. The ?Disco Diaries? blog documents the fun they have with dad on the road: http://thediscodiaries.com/
New interactive features of this year’s Baby Loves Disco?s We Are Family Tour include:
Family Dance-Off: At each event, families will demonstrate their best moves, and the DJs and MCs will chose the local winners, whose images will be posted on babylovesdisco.com for online national voting. Later this year, a championship weekend will be held in New York, and H&M will outfit all winners.
Family Style Tree: Tables will be covered with crayons, markers, stickers, and more, so each family may create their own family-style tree highlighting the pizzazz and style of every member. Families can take a picture and submit to Baby Loves Disco?s Facebook page to showcase their family-style tree online.
Family Photo Booth: Partner NYC Photo Booth http://nycphotobooth.com/ will create a custom Baby Loves Disco booth. Families who get their photos taken will get to take the images home , and they will also be posted directly to the Baby Loves Disco Facebook page.
H&M Family MakeOver Contest ? This contest will be announced soon: any family can upload a short video asking Baby Loves Disco and H&M to choose them for a full family makeover, and the winning family will work with a personal shopping assistant to realize a brand new look for everyone in the clan!
?It?s been a slow climb for us over the past couple of years,? notes Blackman Hurwitz. ?The enthusiasm and energy from parents has only increased over time, and we are more excited than ever to present the best Baby Loves Disco events ever this year.?
Baby Loves Disco is wildly fun, and it?s good for you, too. And it?s not just that Baby Loves Disco helps families burn calories. Blackman Hurwitz points to recent early childhood research that indicates how good dance is for a young child?s development, particularly the sort of ?Freeze Dance? activity that is common at Baby Loves Disco events.
Many of the ?We Are Family? tour events will be free in more than 40 malls, courtesy of H&M. These events regularly draw hundreds of families.
The Baby Loves Disco We Are Family Tour is presented by H&M, and several of this year?s events will once again take place at Loews Hotels & Resorts. Returning partners include Creativity for Kids, Honest Kids, Plum Organics, Green Toys, Piggy Paint, Snikiddy, Ella?s Kitchen, Macaroni Kid and more.

Ten Best Hollywood Airplane Disaster
Ten Best Hollywood Airplane Disaster Movies
Three sheet movie poster: Airport (1970)
The airplane disaster movie has been flying the unfriendly skies since the 1950s. Danger in the air presents its own set of problems, with Hollywood filling in the terrifying blanks with a number of outstanding motion pictures.
Here are ten airplane disaster movies that no Hollywood frequent flier should ever miss. So fasten your seat belts, we’re in for a bit of turbulence…
The High and the Mighty (Warner Bros., 1954)
Duly recognized as the granddaddy of airplane disaster flicks, The High and the Mighty boasts a cockpit crew comprised of John Wayne (“Whistling” Dan Roman), Robert Stack (Captain John Sullivan), William Campbell (Hobie Wheeler) and Wally Brown (Lenny Wilby). Also on hand are passengers Claire Trevor (May Holst), David Brian (Ken Childs), Sidney Blackmer (Humphrey Agnew), Jan Sterling (Sally McKee), Paul Kelly (Donald Flaherty) and Laraine Day (Lydia Rice). Trans-Orient Flight 420 is headed from Honolulu to San Francisco with 21 souls on board. When an engine fire cripples the airliner, the crew, led by a resurgent John Wayne, heroically battle the odds, trying to avoid ditching the DC-4 in the stormy waters of the Pacific Ocean. Muzzy Marcellino dubbed John Wayne’s haunting whistling rendition of the title song.
Academy Award nominations: Best Director, Best Music Scoring (Dimitri Tiomkin, won), Best Supporting Actress (Trevor, Sterling), Best Film Editing, Best Original Song
Director: William Wellman
Review: “…The picture does not conduce to flying. It shows what every jittery novice dreams and dreads.” – Bosley Crowther, The New York Times (7/1/54)
On DVD: The High and the Mighty Two-Disc Collector’s Edition (Paramount, 2005)
Lobby card: John Wayne in The High and the Mighty (1954)
Airport (Universal, 1970)
Arthur Hailey’s best-selling novel comes to the silver screen with Burt Lancaster (Mel Bakersfeld), Dean Martin (Captain Vern Demerest), Jean Seberg (Tanya Livingston), Jacqueline Bisset (Gwen Meighen), George Kennedy (Joe Patroni), Helen Hayes (Ada Quonsett), Van Heflin (D.O. Guerrero), Maureen Stapleton (Inez Guerrero) and other Hollywood ‘A’ listers manning the seats. The crew and passengers all have their excess baggage, but when a hidden bomb blows in midair, their past troubles seem to evaporate as skipper Dean Martin (sober, we hope) tries to land the crippled Boeing 707.
Academy Award nominations: Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress (Hayes, won), Best Supporting Actress (Stapleton), Best Writing, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction/Set Decoration, Best Film Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Original Music Score, Best Sound
Director: George Seaton
Review: “On some dumb fundamental level, Airport kept me interested for a couple of hours. I can’t quite remember why…The airplane has a priest, two nuns, three doctors, a stowaway, a custom officer’s niece, a pregnant stewardess, two black GIs, a loudmouthed kid, a henpecked husband, and Dean Martin aboard…” – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
On DVD: Airport Widescreen Edition (Good Times, 2001)
The Flight of the Phoenix (Twentieth Century-Fox, 1965)
James Stewart plays Captain Frank Towns, a has-been pilot who with navigator Richard Attenbourough (Lew Moran) crash-land an Arabco cargo plane in the Sahara Desert. Also along for the scorching ride are passengers Peter Finch (Captain Harris), Hardy Kruger (Heinrich Dorfmann), Ernest Borgnine (Trucker Cobb), Ian Bannen (“Ratbags” Crow), Ronald Fraser (Sergeant Watson), Christian Marquand (Dr. Renaud), Dan Duryea (Standish), George Kennedy (Bellamy) and Gabriele Tinti (Gabriel). The action takes place mainly on the ground, as the survivors struggle to build a smaller aircraft using parts from the original plane. The climactic scene comes when grizzled Jimmy Stewart tries to start the new contraption, whose lone, sand-choked engine is providing stiff resistance.
Academy Award nominations: Best Supporting Actor (Bannen), Best Film Editing
Director: Robert Aldrich
Review: “All through this too long picture about a planeload of men who are downed in the wastes of the Sahara by a crippling accident, the viewer finds himself snorting at the successive stupidities of the men and at the oversights of reason and likelihood in the script.” – Bosley Crowther, The New York Times (2/1/66)
On DVD:The Flight of the Phoenix (Twentieth Century-Fox, 2003)
